Hello I have taken redundancy and left my job 30th november. I dont expect to start serious job hunting untill after christmas. Will I loose out on anything if I delay signing on at the job centre till january? I have payed 35 years nat insurance so I dont think I need the credits, and I guess I wont qualify for jobseekers as well as redundancy payment I have savings, and also I am a volunteer, so I guess this rules out contribution jobseekers?

If you choose not to job hunt until after Christmas, fine, but there is nothing to be lost bt starting now. You never know what is out there.
you would get Contribution based JSA as long as you are available for work and paid enough contributions...which you have. Being a volunteer would be ok as long as you are prepared to give it up and work if a job is available
You have nothing to lose and everything to gain by starting your claim immediately.
If you do leave it, you will just not see any benefits until then.0 -
You have enough credits for your State Pension but sign on as soon as you can, it can have a reaching effect on benefits if you apply for them in two years time.
Hope the job hunting goes okaymake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0
