Am I entitled to anything?

Right, from the top... I first signed on 1st of June this year, was signed on til the 26th of September and missed a day, so had to do a rapid resign, which takes me up until now
I've been offered a start at a new job on Monday, so I need to call up and sign off. Since I'm starting now, I won't receive my first full pay until the end of January (I'll get 3 days pay in December).
The woman in the JC has told me that as of the day before i start work (Sunday) i am entitled to nothing more from them, even though its 2 months until I receive a proper pay.
Is this correct, or is there anything I would be entitled to? And does this also include my housing and council tax benefits? It seems a very long wait with not a penny, especially over christmas!
Thanks in advance!
Greg

Council tax and housing benefit do not depend on work, but on income, so if you have no income, you get maximum help.
I'm unsure what other help is available.
Job-grant would seem not to be, if there was a break in your claim.
I'm unsure - were you paid back for the entire time you missed during the period after you missed signing - I'm unsure exactly how this works. If not, then you'd seem not to qualify.
Tax credits are maybe something you should apply for.
Other than this - crisis loans.

Yeah, I was signed off for about 2 weeks and didn't receive anything for that time, so i think i've only been signed on for 2 months technically.0
