Pressie wrapping

My plumber (he's a very nice older man) gave me the idea of disguising gifts as other things.
So, for example, if you're giving someone a gift that's in a rectangular box, cover it with plan coloured paper and make some wheels out of cardboard so that it's like a big toy car! I love this idea and will definitely be doing it for the little boy of the family. His sock puppet set will be wrapped up as a choo-choo train

oo some good ideas

Just had one myself - I could make a xmas cracker and put a choc or sweet in it - anyone know how to make them or would it be worth just buying a smart price or other pack of crackers?0 -
Hi
Been reading with interest about your great ideas for wrapping pressies, but my 2 nephews (aged 12 and 17) and 2 neices (aged 5 and 14) want money instead of a gift this year as they are all saving for more expensive things.
Has anyone got any good ideas on how I can give them the money rather than just in a xmas card?? Preferably a very cheap idea
I bought a money maze each from firebox and ebay for my children and nephews they are all over 13
probably be to hard for the little ones but you could make a sweet hamper and wrap the money around one of the tubes of sweets
I made a retro sweet box from a thread on here for this little boys birthday and he loved it so much and doesnt cost a lot0 -

I got these and they were delivered within 10 days but i would contact the seller first as its near xmas now
firebox is quick delivery but more expensive0 -

Retro sweet box thread
so easy to make even the older ones would like it to as i do one for each of my children ages 13-23 i just vary the sweets0 -
I'm afraid I just use standard wrapping paper & tags.......always bought in the sale in January so only pay pence for things which would have cost £2+ a few weeks earlier, then just store them until the following christmas :money:
I like presents to look nice, but don't want to spend a fortune on something which will just get thrown away as soon as it's opened so I never buy wrapping paper at full price now :T

There are loads of cracker templates available - I had the same idea
but after factoring in costs for paper, printing and buying snaps for that authentic cracker experience
not to mention the time it would take me! I gave up and just bought some from £land
I snipped off the ribbon round the ends so I could open them up, tipped out the cracker gift (but you could leave it in), placed my gift inside - I left the joke and the hat, re-tied the ends with a nice ribbon I already had (but ribbon can be picked up for pennies) and tied a gift tag to one end. I considered making pretty name tags for them but the receipients of these gifts wouldn't appreciate it
so I didn't bother. 0 -
great ideas everyone - thankyou

Think I will be paying a trip to poundland or similar and do the cracker idea xx
Love the moneybox idea - but dont want to spend anymore than i have to but might keep that in mind for birthdays0 -

Maybe you could get some balloons and put the money inside and so they have to pop the balloons (or stamp on them for the younger ones) to get the money out.0 -
I bought a pair of high heeled shoes as a gift and they weren't sold boxed, any ideas pleas on how best to wrap these? I thought of using another shoe box but am open to other ideas. Thanks.moneysavingmumofone wrote: »I would wrap in tissue paper then put in a pretty gift bag. x
Thanks moneysavingmumofone that is a great Idea. I am now on the lookout for a medium or large gold metalic giftbag, have seen this one but want it to be exact to the shoes lol!0
