Hi All
I'm going to London :T for a few days for some training. I'll be staying in Zone 2 and my training is also in the same Zone. Whats the cheapest way of getting to and from the training (bar walking)? Bus or tubes? I want some flexibility to go to a different Zone, probably Zone 1, for shopping/sight seeing. What kind of day passes are available? I'll be there for 5 days Thurs-Mon
Thank you!

A 1 week travelcard for zones 1-2 will cost you £27.60, so £5.52 per day. You can put this on an Oyster card or buy an old fashioned paper travelcard. This will work on pretty much all forms of public transport, except river services.
The alternative is Oyster Pay as you go, which will charge you for each journey you make up to a daily maximum. A single tube journey will cost between £1.30 and £2.50 for the zones you specified, and a single bus journey costs £1.30 irrespective of distance or zone. The maximum charge for one day is £4 if you only use buses, and £8 if you use other forms of public transport.
It costs £5 to get an Oyster card, but you can return it for a refund when you leave London if you don't want to keep it.Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
