Changing a joint account into a sole account

Hi Is it possible to change a joint account into a sole account? the account is with HSBC and used to be our main account but has effectively been dormant for some time, since we changed to First Direct for most of our banking, although it has a credit balance of £70.

I have my personal pension with HSBC which is in my sole name and as I don't have a bank account in my sole name (OH does) I thought it would be useful to have a sole account which has a bit of history.

Trouble is I cant find out how to do this or if it is even possible? Any ideas?
