Wrong 'Car Reg' Parking eye

Good morning,

I posted on here a week ago after getting a charge for parking from parking eye for exceeding 11 mins of 1 hr parking.

My wife is pregnant and we have a 20 month old. She had taken a bit of extra time due to getting the pram out etc and having to change the little boy in the car (after an accident :o). Now everyone has said ignore the charge.

However i looked at it again, and now looked at the parking ticket (which we kept for evidence) and she put the wrong car reg on the ticket.. We sold the other car to my parents a few months before.

what do I do now. She had paid for the parking but put the wrong reg down so it now looks like we didnt pay anything?

Any advice is appreciated.

The advice is that you do nothing. You have done nothing wrong and you don't owe Parking Eye a penny. Don't contact the company and ignore all the silly letters they may send out to you.

They would be able to find that the car reg you put down did not actually park that day, so that your story is in fact true and the company suffered no loss as a result.
Anything else is a contractual penalty which are unlawful.
So if they were to take you to court the losses would be zero.
Now, as this is not a decent honest company they will not listen to your excuses, they will just turn up the heat and pile on more harassment, if you pay up, they will claim MORE MONEY in late payment charges.
So you have only one option IMO.
Completely ignore them, do not enter in to any correspondence, you can not reason with them.
Ignore all silly letters, fake debt collectors and fake solicitors, read the stickies at the top and know what to expect for each letter and in the highly unlikely event of them trying court, keep hold of the parking reciept, demand full disclosure of the data as evidence and file a defence that they suffered no loss and the data will prove this case.
If they want to proceed after this defence is filed, the judge will sling them out with a huge bill.

Makes no difference. Always ignore a private PCN.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Is the tickets for overstaying, not paying or entering the wrong car reg in the machine?

well as said it was 11 mins over but she was at shopping less than the one hour the car was parked unattended. The 15 mins was taken up changing the little boy who had an accident and also putting out the buggy etc...

Thank you everyone else for the contribution!

Yes, but what are THEY claiming for? What you did and what they want the money for may not be the same.

They want £50 fine for not paying parking, does not say if thats for the 11 mins or the total time as she put the wrong car reg?

It's not a "fine", it's a pie-in-the-sky figure they have plucked out of thin air that bears no relation to the actual loss that's been suffered.

If you paid to park, just ignore them and their threatening junk mail.

Just ignore them, and then ignore them some more, until they go away
