Phone and internet needed

Not sure if this is in the correct forum as it's s a crossover between home phone and broadband.

Basically though, up to about a week ago, i was paying the following:

Home phone, BT - approx £110 per quarter = £36.66 a month (all in)
Broadband - Talktalk = £16.79 a month (and rising - usually monthly as they increase their paper billing charges because they don't understand i've ticked the box to get e-bills).
Sky TV - basic package - i.e. no sports or movies, but with all the kids, music, and documentry packages = £21 a month.

So, all in all, nearly £75 a month.

Some of the chaps at work pay around £60 a month and get all the above, plus Sky+ HD. Whereas mine is just Sky digital - no + and no HD.

So done a bit of shopping round.

The Sky i might leave separate - looked at Virgin and BT TV and our children are all young, 3 under 5, so like certain channels and programmes - so for now, stick with Sky and perhaps try to wangle a free Sky+ box out of them.

BUT, issue is phone and BB.

Up until a week ago - before i cancelled TT, problem i had was a fault with the system. Only way to use BB was to disconnect phone line and plug BB in - basically bypassing the ISDN filter.

I assumed a fault with filter so borrowed another from work. Same issue.

Spoke to TT and they blamed BT.

Spoke to BT and they blamed TT.

Both said if they came out and it wasn't their fault, it'd cost me. I'm no techie and i'm sure they could make it so that it appeared it wasn't their fault.

So, cut my losses and cancelled the TT - their customer service was winding me up as it was and was starting to increase their prices almost on a month basis.

So, leaves me with BT at around £35 a month.

Not sure what to do though - do i go with BT BB - i've read the reports - on the assumption that both the BB and phone will be with them so if it doesn't work - it's really their fault and no one elses - or do i shop round for the best BB deal.

Either way - need a good phone package and good BB package - not particularly bothered if they're combined or not (but only if above isn't going to be a problem!).

Thoughts please?

cheers
