Relicensing a car online (tax disc)

I ordered minutes before typing the original post (1st Feb) and it arrived yesterday, 2nd Feb! I'm shocked. That's the speediest I could have got it. I find this soooo much easier than digging out my MOT and insurance certificates, standing in the queue, holding my breath at the counter hoping they don't realise that the insurance has almost run out (does that matter?) etc.The reason people don't move right down inside the carriage is that there's nothing to hold onto when you're in the middle.0

I phoned DVLA on Thursday afternoon,(using the above number), to tell them I still did not have my disc, they said it had been sent to my address, but they would send out a duplicate by first class, and if the original turns up, to return it.
The duplicate arrived this morning, but heaven knows where the original one is, if it does turn up I will just destroy it, why should I waste postage returning it?

That's a bit harsh. The vast majority of people seems to have had a very good experience with the online service, including me. I ordered online and received the disc the very next day, which is even more amazing when you remember this is a government run computing system
Things go wrong with all systems at some point no matter how good they are. Just because you had a bad experience, doesn't mean the system is bad - especially judging by the comments of others. Remember that people are much more likely to post bad experiences than good ones, and yet most people seem to have been happy with the service.0 -
