On Jan 3rd I need a large taxi (private hire) from London City airport to Paddington station for 6 people and lots of luggage.

Can anyone recommend a taxi firm that is reliable and economical? I have searched the net, but only the expensive ones advertise....

Thanks

Will 2 or 3 standard cabs be cheaper?

  • http://www.worldtaximeter.com/london suggests it is just shy of 20km and would cost

Estimated Fare using meter at 14:00

    Distance: 19.19 km. | Duration: 42 min.

    first 310.4 meters £2.20
    18.88 km. x £1.60 per km * £30.40
    waiting in traffic (~14 min.) * £6.60
    environmental charge £0.20
    Total £39.40
on a weekend it would be £42.80
  • Alternatives are bus to Liverpool Street and then tube to Paddington. That is not a nice movement around the tube and would cost you about a tenner each anyway.

I thought about cabs and tubes and buses, but I would need 2 black cabs and with 6 of us having flown all night and with 6 cases and some hand luggage, I would just like to get from A to be in one easy trip.

So I am hoping some folks might suggest a few decent trusted private hire companies?

Addison-Lee have a lot of people carriers but even they wouldn't take six plus luggage. I'd be tempted to go for two black cabs. The only single vehicle that might work is a minibus.
    Can I help?
