  • Hi everyone :)

I am in for another year. OH and I are having a competition between us to see who can save the largest amount! I have a celebration tub sealed up with a slot cut in the top so have high hopes! Lol! I found a whole 15p abandoned yesterday whilst out shopping for new shoes so quickly picked it up. Got a lovely pair of new boots for £29, reduced from £90 so have a little more change to pop in the pot too, but the notes will be going straight into my isa. Good luck everyone! And happy new year! :money:

    Hi Sue-UU
Thanks for adding me to the challenge, please can you put me down for a target of £300. Started today with just 29p in my pot so far, hopefully it'll start adding up soon

Done led astray by LC2 & Jakes-Mum they're waiting to be mentioned in the New Years honour's list but they'll both be going to the naughty seat instead :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Of course she didn't LC 2, she knows a sack would fit the bill perfectly - for you too! :p It's good to know you both regard me as very much like Her Highness, however, any mentions you 2 get won't be in any Honours list, more likely on loo roll.!!! :rotfl:

    HI JAKES-MUM

Does this mean that we aren't going to get our gold medal. After us being so good last year!!! Well we will just have to try harder next year!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    Happy New Year Potters!

Its been a year now that I have been a member of this site and can honestly say it changed my life! I am in a much better place than I was this time last year - still a fair way to go but so far still on track.

My pot is at work but in tidying up around the house I have found a LOT of loose change - I cant believe my household is so careless with money so its in my bag ready for the pot on Tuesday :D
  • 50p potted yesterday!

    Happy New Year all!

  • Happy New Year everyone!

I had a great night out to bring in the new year, but have recently stopped drinking so ended up getting away with £5 in the whip, no taxi charges and no hangover. WOOOHOOO!

I 'borrowed' a £20 from my pot (Xmas present from my Dad) and have proudly returned it, together with 22p change!

  • I'd like to join in too :-)

I collected together all my loose change at home yesterday - cleared the windowsill and computer table in my room, found a few pence in my sock drawer (!), and emptied three coats - came to a grand total of £4.81

Just bunged another 28p in, change from picking up a few bits on the way into work.

I was toying with popping into [insert name of well known pound shop here] during my lunchbreak, but then I thought that's not really in the whole MSE spirit - so I had a look in the cupboard under the sink at work, found an old coffee jar, and demolished the lid (I was going for a nice neat hole but didn't exactly go to plan). Rooting round the cupboards some more turned up a roll of very sticky yellow and black hazard tape, so I have put most of the lid together, with a big gap for 50p coins, sealed the lid to the jar, and completely covered the jar to stop my peeking and getting tempted :D

My pot isn't going to win me any awards at craft shows (a few sympathetic glances possibly), but it cost precisely nowt! :money:

Plan is to put all loose change smaller than £2 in, and open it up (if I can!) when it's full. If I'm still in debt come opening day, it can go towards paying summat off - if I'm already debt free (well, you never know), I can treat myself

    Here's to a great 2012

PS It's amazing how much more positive I feel having made the decision to face up to my debts :-)
