Just wanted to share that we completed on our first house today!!! :T :T :T (Hubby and I, both FTBs). We have lots of work to do to make it ours but are both so excited to have "our" house to make our mark on after the years of living in rented whilst we saved our deposit.
The slowest part of the process (from offer accepted on 18th August, no chain - us in rented, buying from vendor who moved in with family, finally exchanged on 15th Nov with completion today) was the enquiries and getting responses to the enquiries from the vendors solicitors... but completion went smoothly and was called by the EA to collect our new keys at 10:55 this morning

Congratulations to you too Kidge and esubbs
Hope that everything on completion goes smoothly for you too!
Changed our locks today... and hubby learnt a valuable lesson in reading the instructions first instead of heading in all guns blazing! What should have been a 10 min job ended up taking about 2 hrs as he struggled to get the door handle together again. Ooh, it is exciting starting to make little changes and improvements and knowing that it is OUR house!0
