Hi,
This your chance to be creative. List 12 goals for 2012.
They don't have to be money-related. They could be anything from eating healthier to smiling more.
Here are mine, in no particular order:

They don't have to be money-related. They could be anything from eating healthier to smiling more.
Here are mine, in no particular order:
- Spend more time with the kids.
- Help OH with the chores.
- Spend time and money wisely.
- Overpay the mortgage as much as possible.
- Expand my knowledge by reading 1 new book every 2 weeks.
- Take a 30 minute walk every lunch time.
- Hike up at least one mountain.
- Try to become more productive at work.
- Catch up with friends more often, either by phone or face-to-face.
- Paint the garden fence.
- Give blood.
- Slow down and relax in my spare time.

Good thought dark knight. Here are some of mine:
1. plan work better so I don't have to burn the midnight oil so often
2. Keep up my exercise regime of 3 runs a week
3. buy less ready meals and eat more healthily
4. try harder to win new clients so I have some money coming in in 2012!
5. chill more and get ratty less
6. finish those jumpers etc that I bought the wool for and never got round to knitting
7. plant those plants I bought from the garden centre that are now in pots in the garage to avoid the frost
8. tidy those lurking clutter ghettos and organise the loft
ouch, that's enough for now! I can put off the other 4 for a bit longer, surely ;-)0 -
Ooooh, what a good idea! Let's see if I can come up with twelve:
1. Succeed in the £12k in 2012 Challenge
2. Stick to my annual budget
3. Pass my motorbike test (it's in January!)
4. Find an OH (ok, that sounds a bit pathetic now!)
5. Get rid of all clutter in house and don't buy anything else to build it up again
6. Get a payrise, however small
7. Get a 2nd job for a couple of evenings or weekend
8. Lose weight (and a lot of it!) and get a bit fitter
9. Be a bit more sociable and outgoing and not the spinster I currently am
10. Look at paying off remaining debts if I can get a good settlement on them
11. Learn something new (a language, a skill, a trade...just something!)
12. Enjoy life a bit more
Think I'll be bookmarking this page and returning on 31st Dec 2012 to see how I got on!0 -
Great idea. My goals are;
1) Save £500 on shopping by using cash back sites and better use of vouchers. (Money to pay for a couple of days away at Christmas)
2) Paint all 4 bedrooms, landing and hallway
3) Finish the work in the garden ready for summer bbqs - (lay the patio, re-turf, new shed...)
4) Grow more fruit & veg (had a good year this year but only moved in Feb so more prep time this year)
5) Get back into drawing/painting (Haven't done any for a year or so)
6) Be as positive and proactive as possible, at work and at home
7) Be more adventurous in the kitchen
8) Try one activity I haven't done before (This year it was body-boarding and segway!)
9) Help others as much as I can
10) Give blood (shamlessly borrowed! haven't donated for 2 years which is bad)
11) Make more effort to spend time with family
12) Enjoy the year - you don't get it back at the end!

What a great idea!
My goals for 2012
1. Make it to a 5 figure sum before I buy a place of my own.
2. Buy a place of my own.
3 Over pay the mortgage from the start!
4. Start a MFW diary to track my progress.
5. Stop wasting money on snacks and unnecessary "stuff"
6. Make a budget when I move and stick to it each month.
7. Make time for me at least 1 day a week.
8. Once I move do a weekly meal plan and stick to it.
9. Bulk cook once a week.
10. Save money in my sealed pot and £2 piggy and not touch any of it until at least 2013.
11. Learn to sometimes say NO
12. Keep my house tidy (When I get it) and not a tip like my bedroom at the minute!
There we go - all the things I want in 2012 I am going to post this in my MFW diary when I finally buy a place of my own and score them off when I achieve them!

This thread is a good idea, but 12 is a lot of goals, even for one year!
Mine are:
1) Continue to lose weight and maintain it a 56kg
2) Get a boyfriend!
3) Have two months off work in the middle of the year for the Olympics and not get sucked into the temptation to work as much as possible. I need a break!!
4) Make a career move ie I don't want to end the year working full time for the same company I'm working for now, much as I like them. Working for them part time and doing something else as well would be OK!
5) Complete all 5 ITIL intermediate courses, ready to do my ITIL Expert course in 2013.
I think that's it for the moment. If I think of any others I'll add them in. Generally I'm fairly content with my life.Borrowed £150,000 in an offset tracker mortgage in May 2007 - MFD May 2041 (67)
Jan 2012 - £125,620.02 / 2,913.87 / Nov 2032 (58)
Apr 2012 - £122,901.88 / 3,170.91 / Jul 2032 (58)
Jul 2012 - £122, 589.02 / 3,507.99 / Sept 2032 (58)
Oct 2012 - £120,476.31 / 3,889.42 / July 2032 (58)0 -

This is a great idea
. Here are my goals for 2012:
1. Lose my post-baby weight
2. Exercise by doing a 45 min walk or 30 min crosstrainer session 4 times a week
3. Sort out my attic and de-clutter
4. Have the patio area completely slabbed
5. Carry on with my monthly mortgage overpayments
6. Aim to get 3 x monthly salary in savings for emergencies
7. Continue to stick to weekly budget i.e. general spending, food shop
8. Keep on top of household cleaning/laundry everyday so that it doesn't build up
9. Do lots of activities with the children on weekends and have fun
10. Close down some surveys site accounts which are no longer profitable/take too long to reach the payment threshold and focus more on the good ones
11. I am a worrier, so I'll try and not let things worry me too much
12. Give blood (this thread has inspired me to do this)0 -
