New kitchen OR replace doors?

Hi, I have a small kitchen, & have always wanted to replace the rather tired looking cabinets.
I took my measurements into Homebase who are offering 25% off all kitchens until Friday. Really helpful chap priced up new look, inc all cabinets, cooker hood, new sink, taps & work surfaces, total price £2502.
The chap I spoke to, said that fitting would cost around £1500
I've also had a quote to totally replace all doors, sides & panels, inc handles, fitting & work surfaces for £2200(This also covered plumbing work to fit new sink, although sink itself not inc in price)
What do I do? Any advice would be gratefully received!

Try Howdens for cheap but nice looking kitchens, shop around for a kitchen fitter / godd chippie.

First of all do not get the supplying company to fit it for you - the charge a fortune as they have to bring every type of tradesman "just in case". Get local recommendations from friends/colleagues etc for the tradesmen.
About 18 months ago we did OHs kitchen replacing doors and worktops only, buying doors from B&Q and worktops from Builders Center. It was fantastic when finished. We re-tiled around aswell and it was really nice when finished. Most of the work was done ourselves using handy friends for the things we couldn't do ourselves! The total cost was under £350!"Life may not always be the party you wish for, but whilst here you may aswell dance"!!!

That seems a lot for replacing doors etc but I don't know how many your replacing. I changed the doors worktops and sink in our kitchen. The parts cost about £800 for 9 doors, 2 x 3 metre worktop, sink, 3 side panels and handles. I did it myself so saved on the labour.
i believe Howdens is trade only, we bought from there 2 years ago and had to use the father-in-law's company account.0 -
I don't think Homebase are the cheapest for anything and your quote for replacing doors etc is outrageous!
You could entirely replace a small kitchen for a little over £1000 including oven, hob and extractor so £2200 for a simple makeover is a joke! If you measure up the units you have you can buy the doors and worktops separately from B&Q or Howdens.
Howdens are often able to recommend a chippie for you.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

Thanks for your replies.
I did originally look at replacing the doors myself, but our larder is an odd size & we are unable to get a door to fit it. Also, over the years, I've painted the old kitchen cupboards & ends, and even if we just replaced the doors, I would never be happy with the little bits left, which I don't think I would be able to replace.
I think I'm goona go with the whole new kitchen, and hopefully ask around at work to see if anyone could recommend a chippy, I can rip the old kitchen out myself & poss put the new one together, just not happy about actually fitting it myself.

We have just moved into new home and have been thnking do we replace the kitchen or just get new doors to last few years unitl we can afford the kitchen.
The carcasses are fine and the worktops and tiles and floor were replaced by the previous owners a couple years ago.
I have just found this company online which have been good enough to send us samples and we think it'll work out about £700 for 11 new doors and 6 drawers instead of around £6k for a whole new kitchen!!!
We took have some non standard length doors and this company do make to measure
