Does this count as insurance cancellation?

Hey all.

Just buying my new car after my old one was written off a few months ago.

As I didn't buy a new car within the 28 days grace period my insurance company gave me to allow my policy to continue they cancelled it as there was no car attached to it (no fee as the third party admitted liability).

Now I'm sorting out my new car I obviously need new insurance. Does my previous policy count as a cancellation in the usual sense (ie when they ask if I have ever had a policy cancelled or been refused)? I assume my cancellation is purely an 'admin' type cancellation and they are asking about cancellations due to fraud/lack of disclosure/etc.

Thanks :)

No. you are safe not include it as a cancellation.

Nope. it is not a declarable event.

  • Brilliant, cheers.
  • The insurance came to its natural conclusion when they paid out the total loss of the vehicle. No need to declare as said
  • Thank you, thats what I thought - and hoped!
