If you want to go to New York and don't mind which airports either JFK or EWR you fly to/from then change the code to NYC and they will list flights to both in order of departure time giving you more choice.
Same for Milan, change the code to MIL and they will list Linate and Malpensa flights.
Also some European airports have flights from Heathrow, Gatwick and London City, so pick London (All) from the menu.

No, if you stick in your regional airport (mine is Edinburgh) it will give you good fares, just the cost of the regional fare to London AND the offer from Heathrow and it's still very reasonable.

Thank you very much for posting this!

I used the link to find brilliant cheap flights to take my family to Switzerland.

By the time we had finished discussing everything the fare on the BA site had gone up, but I found the original low fare on the AA site, and now it is all booked and paid.

Four people (all on adult tickets) flying from London to Zurich and back, for a grand total of 302.80!
