Vertbaudet - stay clear!

I shopped at Vertbaudet (online) a coupe of years ago, paid everything upfront by credit card, received my goods, all ok.

Or so I thought. They opened a credit account in my name without informing me, I only found out because I checked my credit file the other day and it was flashed as a negative entry.

It is possible that it was in the terms and conditions, but why would you perform a credit check on someone that pays upfront? It doesn't make sense.

Vertbaudet acknowledged that they had opened a credit account but said that I hadn't used the facility so I shouldn't have had a problem. Except when you open a credit facility account you need ot perform a credit check and in my case it DID affect my score and now I have to wait 6 years for it to clear!

Stay away from this company!!
