Recently Self Employed

Hi, I have recently quit my job as an accountant, to become self employed.
However there have been delays with set up, meaning i will have no income for the next 3-4 months.
My fiancee earns approx £35k per year, but my income is now £0.
Obviously our mortgage and other outgoings that we are committed to are not covered by just one income.
Am i able to claim any sort of benefit?
i.e. income support, council tax reductions etc etc
any help greatly appreciated
Thanks

Why would you get income support? From your post I gather you arent a lone parent or sick/disabled or a carer.
Your partner earns too much to get any council tax benefit or anything else0 -
Why? You quit your job. It's not our fault that you can no longer pay your bills. Anyway, I'm sure you can manage for 3 or 4 moths on your fiancees salary.0

2 children under 5 to support, and big mortgage. is there nothing i can claim just for a few months?
I'm not a sponger, i have worked full time for the past 12 years and never claimed a penny.0 -
As an accountant surely you knew about having a buffer of several months when starting a business.
You chose to make yourself unemployed at the moment, maybe you should have thought harder about it if you have 2 children and a big mortgage.Moving onto a better place...Ciao :wave:0 -

I'm very surprised that you, as an accountant, haven't heard of financial planning!
You won't be entitled to any benefits, perhaps you should have thought it through before quitting work.Be happy, it's the greatest wealth

You will be getting all the child related benefits already.
Maybe should of thought of this before quitting your job if you knew you would have no income0
