Don't think you're allowed to tell (someone correct me if I'm wrong), send them packing2p off is still 2p off!0

The reason people ask this question is that most people like to wait till the last minute to bid, in an attempt to get a bargain. He wants to know if it is worth his while waiting to bid on your item if his bid wont make the reserve.
Any interested bidder is better than no bidders at all.(".)0 -

Agreed. I personally like to know what the reserve is, so i know whether or not the reserve is within my price range. Nothing more anoying than some seller who has a unreasonable reserve on an item.
Id tell the person what it is, it wont hurt.
These days i dont bother with reserve prices on my items as i find that even if i start the item at .99p it will still always fetch the market price which buyers are prepared to pay. If im not happy with that market price then i just dont bother listing the item in the first place.0 -
Thanks everyone. I wouldn't have put a reserve on this but it's a £9K car  I have told her the reserve price, which is only a couple hundred pounds away from what I initially wanted for the car. They say that football is a religion, if this is true I worship at the Exacta Stadium, Chester0

Not being funny, but if the car is worth 9000quid, it will make 9000quid on ebay. If its only worth 7000quid, then thats what it will make.0 -
I still think I would put a reserve price on there, its nerve wracking waiting for the auction to end imagining someone walking away with your hard earned money in the form of a car for the princely sum of £100 just cos something went a bit pete tong! lol!

Exactly my thoughts
You lose enough on cars through depreciation without losing out on your own accord. They say that football is a religion, if this is true I worship at the Exacta Stadium, Chester0 -

I see your point, but if that was the case, id be buying dozens of cars and other items off their for £100 and selling them on!
Ive been looking at many cars on there over the last few months and they have all made the market price, unfortunately! I think its one of the pitfalls of having millions of potential buyers all looking at your car. There isnt the chance of getting any bargins as 90% of those millions of buyers know exactly what the car is worth and then pay upto that amount.0 -
I think i'd still be worried biblejohn! grin

I guess it is just a case of having confidence in the system - like you say that you have looked at lots of cars so you would be pretty confident that the car will be sold circa the asking price... I dont very often look at cars but the only car I ever put on there didnt sell at all and all I got was lots of emails from people asking me if they could come and look at it! Probably not a good beginning huh
