Do you have a garden shed or garage with power? We have a chest freezer for the dog and it's outside in a outbuilding we've got in the garden. It means you can get food ALOT cheaper in bulk.

Apart from Landywood there are lots of other supplies, I use fife animal feeds who are supplied by Durham Animal Feeds. They sell 'bulk' 5lb packs which work out much cheaper, you just have to buy 20 at a time.

Keep us posted on your pup, have seen pics and he's LOVELY!!

Sorry to go slightly OT but how do you find the quality of the DAF stuff? I currently order from The Dogfood Company but logistics of the new, smaller freezer might make it tough to order the minimum amounts. I've found a stockist of DAF foods semi-locally who deliver (free!) to my area on a weekly basis but have heard mixed views on the quality.
  • I don't have a problem with DAF food quality. We used to use Landywoods but moved to DAF as Landywoods weren't too great on the customer services side of things regarding when the deliveries would be.

DAF do a decent range of foods, although the chicken carcasses are a silly price compared to Landywoods and it'd be nice if they did turkey wings like Landywoods do.

The only comparison we really have if the prize choice stuff from Pets at Home and it's MUCH better than that. I haven't had any problems with it, and it's very reasomably priced. I only get minced meat, and the odd set of lamb ribs from there, but would recommend it.
