Dabs. Broken Terms and Conditions?

Hi.
I recently placed an order with Dabs
Upon going to checkout i was quoted £245 inc VAT, with free delivery.
I have checked my bank account today and have noticed that £297 has been taken for the order.
Their terms and conditions state the following;
The price of the goods will be as shown on the checkout page of our website when you placed your order. We will charge you this amount.
If we discover an error in the price of the goods that you have ordered we will let you know as soon as possible and give you the option of reconfirming your order at the correct price or cancelling it. If you cancel your order and you have already paid for the goods, then you will receive a full refund.
They have failed to contact me with the correct pricing and havent asked me to reconfirm my order at any point at the correct price.
I have attached screenshots of the price i was oriignally quoted by their website, which clearly shows VAT is included.
As you can see they are in breach of their own terms and conditions.
I have contacted them, but yet to hear. What do people suggest?
Edit; Cannot post links yet im afraid, so cannot upload screenshots!

You evidently need to wait to hear what they say about the error in the first instance.
I've always had problems resolved by DABS without any need to quote T&Cs at them but by a quick friendly phone call to them.0 -
Thought id stick the T&C's in anyway

Will see what they say once they reply!
Probably tell me it was an error, thast was out of their hands!0 -
The problem with strong arm tactics is that it can get peoples backs up and what may have been easily settled with a gesture of goodwill/ benefit of the doubt becomes a long hard fight.
Many years ago when handling escalated complaints for a very large mail order there was certainly a strong trend of it, can remember an incident where an obscure vacuum company went bust and so people couldn't get dustbags (see was a good few years ago) any more. We had two complaints come into the team both of which effectively that their circa 18 month old vac had been made useless by this issue. First was a nice woman, good customer, actually asked if we could help her source bags for it, we tried, we couldnt, we refunded her in full for the vac and let her keep it. Second was someone saying they'd spoken to their solicitor and was issuing within 7 days unless we refunded in full as per SOGA plus another £50 for inconvenience etc.... we sent them the address to have the court papers delivered to (2 years later was still waiting for them).0 -
I understand what your saying.
Ive basically emailed them and asked for them to explain what has happened. Although, i still havent heard anything back.
To my knowledge i shoud have been charged £245.
When been charged £297, i thought i would check the terms and conditions, as i didn't think the company could just take extra money without notifying me first.
I wanted to include the terms and conditions to them, s they don't try and fob me off with a stupid excuse and for me to turn around and say oh, right.
ive also posted this n the Dabs Forum. people on there seem to think ive edited screenshots etc. :S0
