Original receipts dilemma...

I would appreciate your help folks on my best course of action...
I have recently been on holiday and my luggage was delayed for over 48 hours.
The airline gave me a compensation at the airport of £35 pounds.
I bought essential items and kept receipts.
I have now arrived home and submitted a claim to my insurance company, they will pay a maximum sum with original receipts, so far so good.
As the amount that I am able to claim is far less than what I actually had to purchase, I made a claim to the airline.
They have said they will contribute to my claim which is wonderful...however they stipulate original receipts also are non returnable.
So my question is...what to do, I cannot give them both the originals? Can I give colour photocopies, or is that fraudulent.
Many thanks,
Barmaid

You will need to speak to both of them and find which, if any, will be willing to accept the copies. You could speak to your insurers and see if they would be returnable after they've seen the originals (normally they arent but you can ask).0

if they ask for original receipts they'll want the original. It won't be fraudulent as they'll probably just get rejected.
They need the originals so you can't claim for the same items from the airline and the insurance, as that'd be seen as fraudulent.0 -
would have been nice to though (get 2 claims in !!!

If the airline will pay £100 and the insurance company £250 for example then give them each original receipts covering that amount then you'll get the sum of them both at £350.I would appreciate your help folks on my best course of action...

Thank you for all your suggestions.
Airline have now got back to me saying that if I claim first from travel insurance and then send this info to them, they will go from there.
Cheers
