need some help... please..

I discovered a virus on the kids PC this morning.. a Cycbot.B.... having followed the onine removal guides the virus checkers are showing nothing.. :beer:

but could someone have a look over my hijack this log to double check please..

Nothing much wrong there but then HijackThis is pretty much outdated when in comes to showing load points & signs of modern malware - It's especially poor with x64 systems.


It would help to know exactly which file is detected as being infected with Cycbot.B, and its location (path to file), so as to rule out possible false positives seeing as other scanners are finding nothing wrong.

Thanks Waddler.. was def there.. lol.. Microsoft Security found it.. Malware bytes confmed its existence in safe mode.. (and then removed it) Dr.Web Cureit confimred clean.. and finally Trend online scan confirmed clean.. so i am sure it was not a false posative.. :-)

oh.. and system restore points deleted.. and new one made..

Run MBAM in normal mode (a quick scan suffices). MBAM is better in normal mode than safe mode as a driver it uses doesn't load in safe mode.

Post the MBAM log where it made the detection.
