Plenty of threads on this subject and just had this emailed from Mytyres. Interesting although don't know how scientific but at least it comes from a more reputable source than many opinions on here I guess

The biggest surprise is the wet weather performance even at 20 degrees when most wouldn't be running winters. At 5 degrees the difference is pretty marked at over a cars length
The snow and icy results are pretty expected
