Cheapest Car Insurance

Does anyone know which companies have the cheapest car insurance? this thread is for a friend of mines who drives a very small cheap car who used to pay £80 a month and from 1st december its rocketed to £145 a month?

He has had his licence for 18 years, no claims, no accidents..
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I will get full details of the car as soon as I see him. Thanks in advance :)

It doesn't work like that. There is no cheapest place for everyone. Use a comparison site.

£80 a month sounds steep for someone with no claims and no accidents, Do they have 11points or been banned for DD
    or something?

Gosh that's alot of money per month? £80 per month sounds like a ridiculous amount according to the information you have given us

    Which was very little.

Depends on the make/model of vehicle, location (insurance is weighted against postcode), occupation, where the vehicle is kept overnight, additional drivers, medical conditions, payment method......

Almost worthless post by the OP which is getting very typical of many internet forums. If you want help then at least give sufficient information.

I was paying almost £80 p/m for car ins. I have been driving for 3 years and no accidents, am pver 30 years old etc.
With the same company, my renewl came through at £790 fully comp...i went to a price comparison site and ended up paying £360 fully comp, so only £33ish per month!!
  • Just swapped my insurance from esure to CIS. a good saving, went direct. Hope that helps

Comparison sites aren't always that great and you can beat them pretty easily, if he has the time, go to an insurers website and look at the box where it says "Who is your NCB held with?", there should be hundreds of companies there, visit the website and get a quote off all of them ;)
