I make this recipe....http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/7717/minty-pea-and-potato-soup, and instead of fresh mint use mint sauce.
    It's delicious!

Mint sauce is the way to go if you can't get fresh.

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions. I hadn't thought of using mint sauce. And I forgot about celery, and celery salt.

I love soups of all varieties and have some for lunch most days. I make a big pot and it lasts several days. Grand daughter likes it too when she gets home from school, especially with crusty bread.

In honour of you Filey, I've put some peas to soak and will be making pea soup tomorrow. Yummity Yum.
  • I always put a couple of bay leaves in, gives the best flavour. Take the trouble to soak and cook dried peas. They add great texture and thickens the soup.

My recipe for pea soup is just peas, water and pepper to taste. Keep it simple.

PS. According to the new http://www.peas.org free pea recipe booklet, it would take 390,096,154 peas of average diameter to go around the British coastline.
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life. :)
