Window Locks

I'm investing in contents insurance for the first time and am wondering about how the use of window locks affects whether or not a claim is successful. I have been asked the question of whether the property has fitted window locks each time that I have attempted to get a quote. I informed them that the property does indeed have window locks on all windows on both floors.
My issue is that I live in a rented property and since moving in we have never been issued with keys to a number of the windows by the landlord. The landlord is disorganised and I doubt that he has copies, though I am attempting to find out. We have a key for the two kitchen windows which are a certain type of lock. The other windows in the house are all anotehr type of lock and I believe would all work with the same key.
Though not locked, the windows are still secure from the outside when the bolts are in the closed position. Therefore the windows would still need to be forced in order to open. I'd like to know whether I would still be covered in the event of a burglary. Any advice would be welcome.

If it doesnt ask/say are the windows locked at night/when nobody is in then i wouldnt have thought it mattered.
Not all companies ask about locks on doors/windows although like you say a lot do. Your best bet is to speak to the company you are thinking of going with as they may all view it differently.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
