Has anyone taken up the free computer check offered for virgin media customers. Just wondering if it is worth it.

Why would your computer need checking?
(Think - what do Virgin Media want to get out of this 'free' service?)0 -
To be fair John, the free check is a good idea from virgin as if there is a problem they could up sell software to resolve it which is what they'd get out of it.
Either way op, plenty of free recommended software out there to scan for viruses and malware. Check the sticky at the top of this board[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]"The internet is a great way to get on the net."

Loads of interactive, real~time selfless and qualified help right here, right~now, and on this very board, why the need to go elsewhere ?
NTL/Virgin , your high street bank etal, and everyone else offering help is for their own purpose, not to help you .. .. .. at this rate we all might as well get the old bloke in the newsagents and the young lass selling vedg on the Sunday market to give our machines a health check too, I mean they appear to offer summat~for~nowt too. Go on then .. .. I'll be first with the silly hat ! :xmassmileDisclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. I have had loads of great advice from some lovely MSE people over the years when I have had a problem with my PC for which I have been extremely grateful.
I don't have any particular problems with my PC at the moment and I do run regular virus checks but I just wondered if it was worth having a total overhaul from Virgin to see if they could speed it up a bit. It is ancient though so probably not. I was just wondering if anyone had give it a go and what they thought of it. It is the 'free' bit that appealed to me as anything free does.lol.He who smiles rather than rages is always

R-f-t-B has it spot-on in that post....no-one on here is trying to sell you anything, install spyware, harvest browsing habits or steal your personal data......in other words, no-one is trying to rip you off or has a vested interest, just help you out
