So where is this extra 20,000 miles of bridleway supposed to be conjured up from?

Probably, but that still leaves a shortfall of about 18,000 miles.

So it's just for horse riders then?

Because quite frankly when near a tonne of meat uses a soft pathway, it destroys any chance of it being used by either cyclists or pedestrians.
What do they do to "combat" this damage? They use soft sand, which is near impossible to ride a bike through anyway......

I'll sign on the following conditions.

    Horse riders:

Stop using public footpaths and pavements in residential areas.
They clean up horse excrement when they foul on the pavements.
They carry public liability insurance when in public.

    Can I add to that:

Stop riding two abreast on busy roads
Stop causing huge queues on single track lanes by riding during commuting periods without using passing places to allow overtaking.
