How to make pillows last longer

you can just put them in the tumble drier without washing them occasionally with some tennis balls - that will plump them up and make them all "airy" and fresh without the hassle of washing them0

If just plumping them up isn't working, I find I have to kinda rip the insides apart, and that helps. It's like they get a bit felted together or something.0

Washing and tumble drying might work well, it has revived mine several times despite there being no instructions on them suggesting you can do either. It was worth a go as they were headed to the bin anyway if they couldn't be improved, so all I was risking was some washing powder and electric really.
Edit to mention, I started a thread some time ago about pillows and which ones people thought would last, which got some good responses:

As it turned out I didn't replace mine at the time, they revived well in the washing machine. However, they are starting to get lumpier now (about six years old I think) so I'm looking at the advice again and will probably buy a dunlopillo next time I see one on a good offer.0 -
I fold the old ones in half and sew an old t-shirt of the kids onto them... The kids have novelty cushions, and don't need to get rid of they're favourite t-shirts. Plus they are still there if they're needed for extra pillows0

I'm another one who used to stuff two flat pillows in one pillowcase. I dont do it now though because i dont mind a flattish pillow but my daughter insisted on practically sitting up when she went to sleep. She has moved out now. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

What's the best way to dry/fluff up pillows without a tumble drier?
(Don't say 'use a friend's tumble drier' lol)

I have used the flat polyester filling round the base of the Christmas tree as articificial snow!
Also for fleece round tender plants in the green house during cold weather.0 -

I'm another pillow plumper, OH does his occasionally or I do it when their flatness begins to bother me. I have washable pillow protectors under the pillow case, which also seems to help. Friends who often stay for the weekend comment on who much cosier the bed they sleep in at our house is than their own, I can only think it is because I plump the pillows and airer the bed every morning - well only if some body has slept in it.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
