Well done, Maddol. May your journey be a smooth one.0

Well done it's a long slog and can be hard at times but it is worth it in the end,I have just finished mine:D0

Well done, Maddol, this will probably be the first Christmas where you will have to pay up front for everything - and that means no credit card bills in January, what a fabulous feeling that is!
Five years may seem a long time but it will soon pass - I am just over two and a half years into mine so on the downward slope. Stick to your agreed budget each month, and any problems arise with unexpected bills (washing machine dies, car needs replacing etc) talk to your IVA company as they may be able to adjust your payments to help with this. You will soon be at the end of the tunnel, never fear! One life - your life - live it!0 -
Thank you everyone for all your words of support
Is hoping 2012 is a better year for all

Your right, it will be a very different Christmas and I love it! Back to basics, just like it should be
I hop the next couple of years run smoothly for you, not long for you now! Is hoping 2012 is a better year for all

Our IVA was agreed today! Such a weight off our minds. We can now move into the new year with a light at the end of the tunnel. I know it won't be easy but it has to be easier than what we have been dealing with until now.
Happy Xmas everyone
Congratulations - I bet that's a huge weight off your minds. I know it was for us. We've just made our third payment and I'm finding it helps mentally to break it down into single years - so we're already 1/4 of the way there!!0 -
Congratulations!
5 years does seem like a long time. To help me through those tough times, I started a spreadsheet so I could mark off the contributions against the total amount owed.
It's also worth getting in the right mind-set early; your IP/IVA company is ultimately there to work for you. As Narglebalst says, if you have any unexpected bills then get in touch with them so that you can come to an arrangement.
Don't wait for the annual reviews if there has been a change in circumstances - be proactive and declare any increases/reductions in earnings as they happen.
The time will fly by and before you know it you will be debt free!0 -
Hi Maddol
I did exactly the same as balmk, I have the total amount I owed and what I have paid so far.... plus the amount of day / weeks left. It's a great thing to see because it can only go in one direction.. These 5 months have really gone fast and we work on a week by week basis to control the funds... Merry Christmas..Never make assumptions always ask questions>>>>>;)0 -
Thank you very much everyone, all the best for 2012Is hoping 2012 is a better year for all
