I thought this was worth a mention, as its not often that Im impressed by the large chain shops.
I ordered a Hoover HNF7128 washer/dryer from Comet. The confirmation mail said that delivery would be between 8am-6pm, which isnt great. I got a phone call on the morning of the delivery date saying that they would be here mid to late afternoon, which impressed me no end as it doesnt use your whole day up, and then phoned at 3ish to say that they would be about half an hour. They came and fitted it, were quick and polite, and left. An hour later, I went to have a look, and noticed that the strike plate, the bit that the door latch hooks onto, was missing, which is strange because the installers closed the door. God knows where its gone, I presume its fallen inside the machine, so I phoned up, and was told that they will send a new one out on Friday.
Today, I had another look at it, and then I realised something. The Hoover HNF7128 isnt a washer/dryer, its a washing machine. :embarasse I phoned up and asked if the yet to be delivered replacement could be a washer/dryer, and after a bit of a wait, was told that I'll be getting the washer/dryer I requested.
Cheers Comet, fantastic service. Its great to know you cater for idiots like me.
As for Hoover, my last washing machine lasted 27 years, yours didnt last 27 minutes.
Im keeping my fingers crossed that the new Candy will be better quality than the Hoover, I cant see it being worse.
