Sorry dont know where to post the question. My question is this i have worked from being 13 im now 31 i got made redundte last octuber and was on dole for 3 months,
Found another job been working there for 11 months every things going ok.
Now when i wasn`t working i defaulted on a credit card so now got bad credit, over the 11 months i have just been getting back on my feet i have been living off pay day loans and i had a log book loan on my car.
i have just paid them off, now end of december my car tax runs out and so does mot, it will cost 500 quid to get it thought its mot and i have to tax it on top.
Why isnt there a why the goverment can lend people like my self money for when things get hard like they do for the unemployed for example a crisis loan, which is great and can be a really big help they take repayments out or your weekly money so can`t default, so why cant they do this for workers there is just no help for people like myself.
i risk lossing my job now because its 20 miles away and i cant raise 1000 to buy a car to get me to work, if i go to another pay day loan place they will only give me 500 and will take al my wage the next month why aint there help in place for people who just need a hand now and then i am now going to add to the growing numbers of unemployed i really dont wanna lose my job but dont know what else i can do i have no family to ask for money and bad credit from getting made redunate last year so plz help .

I don't think there is much anyone can give feedback on!
You are probably right, however that is little help to you at the moment, I am sure that you can use public transport until such a time you can raise the funds, even if this is just a few months?
I understand that it will be hard! BUT it is not impossible.0 -
4 buses 1 hour 30 mins extra time in morning and on way home also have kids so public transport aint really an option and i aint asking for hand out i just asking why there aint any options for regular joes like me to get help there is nothing to aid us0

It does seem really unfair. My husband got made redundant almost at the end of his railway engineer training. He was guaranteed a job elsewhere if he paid to do his final exam. It was over £1400 and with no money coming in we were struggling. He rang job centre and everywhere to see if they would pay for it or loan him it (crisis type loan) but answer was always no as he actually needed to be registered as unemployed. In the end we finally managed to fund it ourselves but are still paying it off. There seems to be no common sense help for people in need who aren't unemployed.0

Have you tried your local credit union , They provide loans ranging from 100 upto sometimes 15k with low apr and have very high acceptance . The only stumbeling block could be some ask that you save money with them for around 7 weeks before they pay a loan out but not all have that criteria so your local one might not . try this

Have you tried looking for a carshare or liftshare to work? If you can get a lift with someone and pay them a share of petrol money it might save you some money in the meantime, and you could use the savings to pay for the car over a period of time instead of all at once. You might be able to save road tax & insurance costs if your car was off the road for a few weeks/months as well.
I know it's not as convenient as your own car, but it might be a short-term solution to get you over this difficulty, and it's probably better than public transport.0 -
thanks for your comments, its really stupid govermant could charge interest and there are loads of people who have a crisis now and then but there is no bailout when your at work, how can this get put across to the big wigs of this country to try and make help availble0

I don't think anyone disputes what you say, but I don't think your question directed to the MSE audience will help your case, why don't your write to your PM, Parliament or the Lords and ask them?
As for the suggestions to what you can do, maybe this helps?
I can see your point on the bus situation, I don't think the buses or the time should be a problem for you. I once had to do this for a while when I was 16 and coud not drive. I can see your point regarding childcare as you have set times to return by and this is often not possible on the beloved bus. Do you not have family to help with the money. Another thought would be to post your SOA and see how these people can help you, they helped me a lot!.0 -
sorry wots SOA and my mum is disabiled and lives in a 1 bedroom flat my dad died many years ago so no one to ask and if i worte to pm it would never get read lol maybe should go on strike lol0
-
Well unless you have a very nice employer I am sure the strike will not go down well. Statement of affairs I think, correct me if I am wrong other posters. If you don't write then you will never know, if you write to your local MP you will for sure get a formal response so long as you provide your name and address, you will also get a letter from the House of commons.0
-
i think i might try that i mean everyone in this world has been in a right mess at some point in there life and needed a few hundred quid but couldnt get it how do i write to mp not very good at all this as you can tell with my spelling and the way its all set out lol0
