i have put claim in for carers allowance today but was wondering if anyone knows how long they are taking at the moment.
i had meant to do it ages ago so hoping its not to long

Usually the backdating is for a max of 3 months for carers allowance.0 -

When I made my claim a couple of months ago it took 10 days.0

Yes thanks for picking that up, the NHS site I looked at was wrong. You need to claim within 13 weeks of the DLA or AA decision and can then get it backdated to the date of the DLA or AA application.0
