Easyjet Newcastle - Berlin flights?

Does anyone know if this route is gone for good? Does anyone know if any no-frills airlines may be offering this route in the future? Thanks

I suspect it will be gone for good with Easyjet, apparently they dropped it as it wasn't making enough money.
Jet2 will be the one to watch as they are expanding quite a bit at Newcastle and are taking over BA on the Newcastle-Gatwick, but whether they take on Berlin remains to be seen...
It's a shame the route went - was intending to use Easyjet this year for another trip to Berlin...0 -
Thanks Marc - I had heard that Easyjet weren't too happy with the cost rises associated with the new Brandenburg airport so if it wasn't making much money I guess that would be the final nail in the coffin - I'll keep an eye on Jet2 for the future.0
