    Use a comp site with your estimated annual kWh usage-5 mins work, then switch via a cashback site.
    Comparing just unit costs does not do the job due to all the other variables.
    No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)

    E.On are certainly not the cheapest supplier around. But don't forget you are estimating your annual usage, so the suggested suppliers are not necessarily the best for reducing cost. However, it does give you an idea about what is available.
    I'd try speaking to E.On first, then call one of the alternatives, on their customer services number, and see how you feel. The alternative should be speaking to you as a potential new customer, so might be a bit more enthusiastic than E.On. See which one makes more sense once you get them off their sales patter.
