    Agree with the keypass recommendations.
Email youself a copy of the password file periodically which is easier than keeping backups.

It's just a pain where websites want the second, sixth & ninth letters etc. Also where websites have certain rules for password generation that Keypass doesn't immediately use.
Yes, pages which require certain characters are a bit of a nuisance, Verified by Vesa springs to mind.
    Otherwise very good and free.

Unless you are responsible for several multi million pound Swiss bank accounts, I wouldn't bother with a USB stick key + password. Just a really strong password. Join two words and substitue a couple of letters for symbols or numbers. Test it here http://howsecureismypassword.net/
  • I use True Crypt, it can be used to encrypt a mapped drive on your computer or a folder on your memory stick, perfect for client info / passwords etc.

Take a look on YouTube for some very good guides on how to use it, once you have the hang of it, its easy!

True Crypt is regarded as one of the best and most secure forms of encryption at the moment.

    Free aswell.

for phone numbers and contacts I use gmail, and have it set up to sync with all my devices, therefore if I add/change/delete a contact on one device (eg mobile/computer/web) the change is instantly pushed to all devices.

for credit cards/debit cards I don't have them written down as they are already on the card and statements.

for PIN numbers I can just remember them but I know some people who use fake contacts eg Molly, Tell: 07999912349 (where 1234 is the PIN)
