Recieved PCN - advice please

I received a PCN from vehicle control services ltd for allegedly not displaying a valid ticket I,have been reading through quite a number of threads on here and other sites all with similar advice to ignore as this is an invoice and nothing else!

Now the so called offence was nearly three weeks ago and arrived today. There was no actual ticket on my car and the PCN letter has two photos on it that show my car entering and leaving the car park both with date and time stamps. Now i know i purchased the ticket and displayed it correctly and to the best of my knowledge it was where i left it when i returned on top of the dash.

My worry is that i am unable to find the ticket so i have no proof that i actually bought one and what process do they have in place that records the fact no ticket was visible? There is no mention on the letter that they have proof of no visible ticket just photos of the car in and out.

many thanks for any advice or help

It wont matter if they have a picture of the queen stealing the ticket, it is an enforceable invoice and they will use intimidation and threat letters to attempt to frighten you in to paying.
One thing you have learnt, is treat all parking receipts as extremely important documents and save them.

Was the P&D one of those silly ones were you enter your reg?

These companies don't need any reason to send these invoices out. They do probably send random ones, if one person pays its a good business plan!

They wont do anything other then send silly letters!

    cheers.

so why did i get the PCN then? I am confused because there must be some method in place for them to issue a PCN, it surely cannot be random?

They can do what they like, it is simply a unsolicited invoice which you have been invited to pay.
If some people are stupid enough to pay them, they are quids in.
I would recommend you reject the invitation to pay the invoice, ignore everything they send and only respond to stamped sealed court papers, then file a valid defence.
However I would not hold your breath on those court papers, as they have no better case than me charging you £75 for reading this.

sorry esmerobo, yes it was a P&D where you input the reg number.

thank you everyone for your comments. For someone who has never been in trouble with anyone, well not since i was at school, then this is very disconcerting, especially when the subject of 'stamped sealed court papers', bailiffs etc are mentioned. Not being able to find my parking ticket still worries me but IGNORE it is then.

How can these people be allowed to do this because there must be thousands, tens of thousands of people who have paid for nothing. What can i do to complain about this? Trading standards, the council who own the land (was formerly and NCP car park)??

    Thanks
