Not if you use their savings schemes.

Le loup is spot on here.

I have bought a few in the past thru a broker (incl Eastern eurpeoan, AA smaller cos etc). I do invest monthly into 5 different trusts thru a savings plan. Costs are fairly low to buy, and not much to sell either.

There was a thread about it when Hargreaves Lansdown were pushing it at launch (that was after Mark Dampier had rubbished it in the press before Fidelity agreed to pay them commission and marketing fees). See https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/2282463 Much of what was said there still applies.

The NAV of FCSS has underperformed the indices and other managers. The problems that should worry investors are the high charges due to the very unsual practice for an IT of paying trail commission and what will happy when Bolton retires in the next few years as it's only his name that's stopping the discount going to more normal levels.

The question you should ask with any equity holding is whether you see it at as good value today and if not you shouldn't hold it. What you paid for it shouldn't enter the equation.

If you wanted advice, it would have been adviseable to talk to an adviser.
The vast majority of IFAs won't have any knowledge of investment trusts (or other equities) as they normally don't pay them commission and probably not authorised to advise on them.
