PPI: I ticked the box

Hi, I'm new to this forum.

I was wondering whether it's still possible to reclaim PPI even tho I ticked a box on the form? Back in 2000 I applied to Mbna for a credit card and ticked the box but I didn't fully understand what it was for and thought if I didn't tick it I wouldn't get the card. Naive to say the least.

I contacted MBNA and they've just come back to say that I can't claim because I had ticked the box and signed the form.

Any advice, even if it's just to say I don't have a leg to stand on, would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

What would be your reason for complaint?

Naive yes. However, that doensnt make it a mis-sale.

No, I realise that. That's why I raised the query. It's so long ago that I can't remember what documentation was supplied to me and it was only when they returned the form to indicate I had ticked it that I remembered I had.
    Thanks.

    Did you complain then?

  • I've only just received their reply so haven't done anything as yet.
  • I had ticked the box, MBNA refused my complaint twice, then they upheld my complaint as I was able to prove a pre-exsisting medical condition.

I recall only filling in the aplicaion form and not being given the exclusions of claiming on the policy, otherwise I wouldn't have ticked it once I knew what the exclusions were.
