I, too, can confirm that the double wine glitch works. I didn't try the half price bottles, as I assumed the till would see the discounted, not original, price, but did several of the 3 for £12 offers. The till sees the original price and then discounts twice. First it takes off the total cost of three bottles minus £12 (so 3 x £6.79 = 20.37 and to get that down to £12, it refunds £8.37). Then, as I actually bought six of these, they scanned at £40.74 in total. The till then returned a further 25% of this, ie £10.19, making the total cost of the six bottles £13.81. I think this is better value than the mini bottles, if you can afford the outlay.
I went back and did it again, forgetting that the more expensive the original price, the more discount you get. I think this only works on the fixed price offers (eg, 3 for £12) and not on the half price ones. Will remember that next time!0 -
Right back from my trip to a couple of branches of Mr T's.
Can report that here Ooop North, the double discount is working on the bottles which are 3 for £12 and also found a cheapy, Silver Point 8% white wine at 2 for £5. So seems to be working on the "so many for £x" deals, you get the money knocked off for the deal and then it knocks off 25% based on the original price. Sadly is not working on the half price and other reductions wines, it calculates the discount on the reduced price, though still some not bad deals to be had. Just got 21 bottles of wine and four bottles of sherry in one store for £59!
The Silver Point white wine works out at £3.25 for 2 75 cl bottles! I've just had a little slurp, purely in the interests of research you understand, and it's ok, a bit sweet perhaps, but you could always blend it with something else - that's all the vineyards do in most cases after all!Hope is not a strategy.0 -
I too don't really understand why people are so keen on the little bottles, Picasso, I know they are handy occasionally to pop into your handbag but the full size bottles are so much better value (and you can always get a bigger bag!)Hope is not a strategy.0

Can anyone confirm that the 25% off wine works online (grocery shop), Im sure it did last time but this time I cant see anything saying save 25% when you buy 6 bottles on the main grocery site. I am getting worried now Ive placed my order for 6 meal deals+ extra bottles and dont know whether to cancel!!

I'm the only adult in my household and if I open a big bottle I will drink it all. If I open a small bottle I will drink it all.
Much better for my health, pocket and waistline if it is a small bottle. If you're not scared, you're not paying attention0 -
For those of you worrying about on line orders, I did this last time and the discount was applied on the delivery note. As long as you are getting the wine delivered before the date the deal ends then you should have no problem.0

I like the small bottles for the simple fact that I very rarely drink and when I do its only 1 glass and the rest of the bottle ends up in the fridge for a month then ends up being tipped away and wasted, so the small bottles are ideal for me.
For anyone wanting to know if it works on online orders, whenever i'm concerned about a price I always make sure I only have what I think it will come to (with the price glitch) in the bank, plus a few quid extra just incase of substitutes. That way if the glitch doesnt work and it comes to alot more they cant take payment and deliver it if payment isnt there.0 -
Off to visit Mr T after I've collected the kids from school!
As long as I get 2 deals of the 3 for £12, the glitch should kick in??0 -
