My sister is pregnant and for Christmas I wanted to get her a goody bag from Hotel Chocolat. One of the types of chocolate has hazelnut praline in it, is this ok as it is nuts? She seems to think its only peanuts that she can't have and thats all I can see online but I don't want to buy something she can't have!!
Are there any other things I should be aware of when buying chocolates?
Thanks x

the government advise it is ok to eat nuts now (They used to advise against it but i think this changes every year with everything!)
Info: "If you would like to eat peanuts or food containing peanuts (such as peanut butter) during pregnancy, you can choose to do so as part of a healthy balanced diet, unless you are allergic to them or your health professional advises you not to.
You may have heard that some women have, in the past, chosen not to eat peanuts when they were pregnant. This is because the government previously advised women that they may wish to avoid eating peanuts if there was a history of allergy (such as asthma, eczema, hayfever, food allergy or other types of allergy) in their child's immediate family.
This advice has now been changed because the latest research has shown that there is no clear evidence to say if eating or not eating peanuts during pregnancy affects the chances of your baby developing a peanut allergy. "

I would ask your sister though as some people still refuse to eat nuts due to the past advice.0 -
The thing about nuts and pregnancy is a bit of a myth. The latest advice from the NHS is:If you would like to eat peanuts or food containing peanuts (such as peanut butter) during pregnancy, you can choose to do so as part of a healthy balanced diet, unless you are allergic to them or your health professional advises you not to.

It's fine to eat nuts (including peanuts) during pregnancy.
You might want to avoid liquor chocolates, and if she doesn't want to eat peanuts, then no point in giving them to her!

Thanks, thats all I could find. I have asthma so its a no to peanuts but is it just peanuts or will she be ok with hazelnut praline? Should I just not risk it? Ohhh shes such a pain lol.0

It'll be fine. As quoted above, advice no longer states that pregnant women should avoid peanuts (or any other type of nuts). In fact, nuts are recommended as a good source of protein.
(Not so good for you when they're coated in chocolate though!)

The advice was the baby's immidate family - that doesnt include you (sorry!) it meant the babies parents and the baby's siblings. So even under the old advice she could STILL eat nuts0
