Mortgage applications and employment history

Hi all,
When applying for a mortgage is the lender concerned with employment history as a whole or solely the length of time with the current employer?
I ask because although I have been with my present employer for 15 years I will be starting with a new one in 2012. Would this adversely affect any application made after commencing the new role?

Depends on the lender, I have done a few where people are changing jobs, and the lender has been happy with a copy of the contract, and confimation of start date, some lenders will expect you to have finished any probationary period though.I am a mortgage adviser. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
