  • I need to buy a real Christmas tree today (Sunday)

yesterday we went to Dundonald nursery (the trees were really well laid out and displayed) Craigantlet,Clandyboye estate,Belvoir forest(looks like they arent selling trees any longer ??) Cregagh road and one or two local fruit and veg shops, but because we've left it so late there was nothing suitable...we want a traditional pine tree approx 6 - 7 feet tall.

If anyone knows of anywhere open today selling Xmas trees - no further than approx 10 miles from Forrestside shopping centre -I'd be really grateful to hear.
  • Thanks quintwins for sharing that with us, i got ours on saturday from the boat yard, first time i have done that and a really great experience. They were really friendly although i didnt know there was an actual boat yard in scarva (random) I know there is the newry canal but its no more than shuck (what a great word hey).

Again thanks very much know where im getting my tree from now on.

  • We've left it reeeaaallly late to get our tree - we usually pick one up from a wee fruit shop on the Cregagh Road but been having a quick look at the trees that are left on the way into work in the morning and didn't look like any nice ones left (I get a lift so don't worry - I wasn't driving as I was looking lol!) going to try NI Farm Forestry in Dundonald Anyone tried here before?
  • we live in n. london and so chances of getting a real one of any decent size at a good price is nigh impossible unless anyone knows differently?!

The fruit and veg shop beside Gillespie & Wilsons on the Upper Newtownards Road had Christmas trees in stock when I was in this morning, around 8am, so you could try there.

glad you were happy with it it's a really great place i liked acually picking my own so i know it wasn't gonna have any huge baldy patches, we only knew there was a boat yard there (and that they did trees) because they fibreglassed my father in laws boat a few years back, it's not well advertised or sign posted yet was really busy when we went- word of mouth is a great thing i guess
