HI All,
I want to build a database for a website I am assisting with but I don't have the experience to build one so I wondered whether anyone has any experience with software for this purpose? I would like to be able to generate a page so that others can upload details for cataloguing purposes. I had a look at reviews for dbQwikSite but found a few really bad ones. Could anyone advise or even freelance?

Try advertising on scriptlance.com or similar. Some 9 year old from India who lives in a pot noodle carton will probably knock a fully fledged Amazon style site for $5. Someone else can probably recommend software that does it for you, I'm the type who makes stuff from scratch. If its just a DB and a few pages for people to submit details, its probably just a few hours work to get the basics in, and then jazz it up with graphics etc.0

For PHP and MySQL, I really wouldn't look any further than phpMyAdmin.
You can download from phpmyadmin.net
It's free and open source, and is generally included in web hosting packages by default.0 -
I'm only starting to play with php and learning it, so thus is my dilemma. I did think of posting on a freelancing site but wondered whethernit would be possible with a wysiwyg-style software package. i have ben scouring the web and founf bdQwik and PHPMagicPlus, but not really sure which to go for, if any. Wondered whether anyone had any familiarity with anything like this...?0
