Not exactly sure of all the prices but delicious and feeds quite a few:

    Tin of tuna 37p
    Pasta 30p
    Handful of frozen peas 10p
    Chopped onion 10p
Tin of condensed soup 60p (mushroon or chicken)
Grated cheese 20p and breadcrumbs (use the heel)

Bake in the oven for 20 mins and serve with salad and value garlic bread tasty! Plus you can serve from the dish (lasgane style) at the table if you have friends round, cheap and filling:T

    Ham and mushroom pasta bake.

Cheap wafer thin ham cut into strips
Value mushrooms sliced and lightly fried
    Cheap pasta shapes cooked
    2 eggs beaten
    grated cheese

Mix together ham, mushrooms, pasta. Mix in the egg. Put in an oven proof dish and top with grated cheese. Cook in the oven until cheese is melted and golden brown.

Serve with crusty bread and salad.

    Absolutely delicious!!!

How about large home made yorkshire puddings filled with veg and gravy?

Or a stewpack of veg for £1 - cooked in slow cooker with can tomatoes and curry powder - this can be eaten on its own or with pitta bread, rice etc.:):):)

    Sounds disgusting

    Tastes fine!

If you have breadmaker - or can make dough by hand - home made pizza is very popular and cheap.

A huge flan with eggs, bacon, cheese and onions is very populat and can be eaten cold or warm.

I have just made some lovely potato cakes and potato/tuna cakes.
The spuds were bogof at netto 2 bigish bags for 99p and the tuna was only 27p.
They are nice on there own or with baked beans or salad.
  • Roast Dinner
tonight I am making a roast dinner in the hope that it will entice DD's into eating some veg. I didn't realise how cheap it is:
for three (me and DD's 16 and 8)

half a roasted chicken £0.75 (currently 2 for £3 in Asda)
2 carrots and half a small
    swede, boiled and mashed £0.20
    half a cabbage, boiled £0.19
    4oz frozen peas £0.15
    gravy made with meat juices
and gravy salt from cupboard £0.10 (approx)
    yorkshire puddings made from
    1 egg, 3oz flour, 150ml milk £0.25 (approx)
    3 potatoes (large) roasted £0.40

    TOTAL £2.04

The cheapest decent meal I can come up with is pasta in home made tomato sauce. Boil up a packet of spaghetti (16p asda smartprice) Fry garlic in olive oil and put in a tin of tomotoes with dried herbs, simmer until pasta cooked and it costs about 20p max to feed 4 people!
