in Credit cards
I have a number of credit cards and have payment protection on all of them. After hearing :money: on Radio 2 last week, it made me wonder if I can go back to the card issuer and cancel these worthless policies?
Does anyone know?
What is the route one takes?
Will they let you do this?
Any help here to save me £100/mth would be grateful.
In anticipation

I think you can phone up each card and cancel the protection (it is a big con)...0

I don't think they can make payment protection insurance compulsory.
You are buying an insurance policy separate from the card itself.
Just ring up and cancel as suggested.
If you do want some sort of critical illness cover you can buy it much more cheaply from an insurance broker.
PPI insurance often doubles the cost of credit!
R.Smile, it makes people wonder what you have been up to.

Yes you can phone and cancel CC type PPI. Some CC's staff try to tell you that your credit limit will be reduced but that is just them being awkward. Stick to your guns and cancel it.
