RBS offer letter

Help!! My wife has had an offer letter from RBS which is offering her £900 but on the summary table at the back their calculations shows that total refund of ppi plus interest paid to date would be £2996 plus statutory interest of £1081 (after tax) showing the total offer should be £4077. So why would the offer on the cover letter say £900. We are both really confused. Please can anyone advise? Kind regards

Contact them and ask - only way to find out!
There should be a contact number on the letter - if not try 0117 9403969. If it's engaged don't be put off, just keep trying. You'll need the reference number, somewhere on your letter. Do you have any outstanding debt (on the loan or credit card). They will apply any refund to that first and then send any excess to you which could explain the difference otherwise it could possibly be an error - does the summary table look right?
Congratulations on having your complaint upheld regardless and extra congratulations for getting a summary table out of RBS!0
