I am not sure if this is the right place to post this but I am looking for some advice on how to improve my credit rating I have a dmp which has got just under 3 years to go and I am able to start putting a little more money away which I am saving to bring this date forward. I am finally getting my life and finances in order, I have got a promotion so will be earning a little more too. I want to try and save a deposit to buy our first house and have set a five year target but I know my credit score is really bad now are there any small things I can start doing now which will start to improve it?

One big thing will be settling any defaults on your DMP... a settled default will affect you less than an active default.
The quicker you can get the DMP paid off (maybe full and final offers?) the quicker you can rebuild your credit fileDo make sure you leave a buffer in case the boiler blows or the car conks out etc

I have currently a spare £60 a month which I will use the following month to pay stuff off are f+f offers just as good as repaying the full debt?
