Terms and conditions

1. Open to all UK, CI, IoM and RoI residents except employees and the immediate families of VisitScotland, their agents, the Balmoral Hotel, ScotlandsPeople or anyone else professionally connected with the promotion.

2. Limited to one entry per household. No third party or bulk entries will be accepted.

3. Entrants must be over 18 years old.

7. All entries received will be entered into the prize draw to win x2 3 hour session at the ScotlandsPeople centre in Edinburgh. This includes 1 hour with a genealogical expert and preliminary research done on your family tree. The research is for one person only however, the prize winner may bring a guest. Also included is a champagne afternoon tea at the Balmoral Hotel for two people.

8. Restrictions apply and prize is not redeemable on a Saturday or Sunday.

9. The prize does not include any travel insurance or any other expenses.

10. All elements of prize package are non-transferrable, subject to change and are subject to all prize fund provider standard operator Terms and Conditions.

11. Prize redemption dates are subject to availability and must be taken by 30 April 2012

12. The prize is as stated and no cash or other alternative prize is available, except that in the event of circumstances outside of its control, the promoter reserves the right to provide a similar prize of equal or greater value.

13. Two winners will be drawn at random under independent supervision and the winner notified in writing within 14 days of the closing date. The promoter's decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

14. Prize must be claimed within 28 days of notification. Failure to do so will result in forfeit of the prize and another winner will be drawn at random from all entries received by an independents party. Prize-winner will not be required to participate in any publicity.

15. No responsibility can be taken for any entries that are lost or delayed or which are unable to be sent due to Internet connection issues or systems failure or anything else that prevents entries being received. Proof of online entry or postage does not constitute proof of delivery.
