    Hi All,

I've just had a very careful recount of NSD's and I've made my first target of 12 before Christmas. :j:j It was a close thing. I'm off to do the last bit of food shopping tomorrow, followed by the nector card spend on Sat where I see if there are any bargains to be had. I've done the Christmas Eve Bargain Run for years and yrs ago was no competition, but no doubt it will be almost like a 'bun fight' this year. Good job I'm on crutches - LOL
My next target is to try and do 5 NSD's between Christmas and new year. Thought I'd leave one for vegetables/fruit and maybe another one for bargains if there's not much doing on the 24th.

Just going to add another page to my spreadsheet for my personal target of 'save £1000.00 on BOGOF, 2:4:1 and reduced items in 2012.

Has anyone read the Which report on Supermarkets, based on quality and value for money. Waitrose came out top, followed by Aldi and Lidl in second and third place. The nearest Aldi is 18miles away, but I've tracked down a Lidl only 6miles away so I may give that a go in Jan as it only a couple of miles further on than Sainsbury's. Not sure what to expect as I've never been in one!!!!

We have a small A*di in the town where I work and the L*dl is around 20 miles away :( (where there is also a bigger A*di). I must admit I like different things from each:o - I pop to the small A*di each week as their fruit & veg is great & the "supper 6" is great value and probably go to L*dl every couple of months and stock up.

The only advice I would offer is to buy one of something and try it and, if you like it, stock up next time. Some things are much better than the "normal" sm, but others I must admit to not being as keen on (although not that many tbh).:)

  • Jinty (((hugs))) from me too ..... been there .....

If :D you're on top form this week with the pics! Thanks, they do so cheer me up.

Forgot to mention before ...... another NO NSD today:mad:

Good news is that the new fridge/freezer is arriving tomorrow:j:j:j (honestly, never thought I'd be so happy but nearly a fortnight without one and I'm going demented!).

Think I'll be stuggling to hit my target now tho' - never mind!:)

I have both within walking distance of home. I like some of the fruit and veg offers in A!di, but rarely wander up to Lid! (an extra few mins each way) to keep an eye on theirs. I also get the cheap white bread from A!di (47p and much nicer than the value loaves in the supermarkets) and my tea bags from Lid! (think they're 29p for 80 and they stew nice and strong - in fact they're the only reason I wander up to the store unless I see an offer than grabs my fancy in one of their emails - I always hit the same lass on the checkout and she's christened me 'the tea bag lady' as I buy 4 or 6 boxes at a time :rotfl: ). The 4pint containers of milk are normally a fair bit cheaper than the supermarkets too, but I know our A!di only does full fat and semi which doesn't help me as I buy/use skimmed (and don't like to water it down as I get very little calcium in my diet as it is).

Spend day for me. Fella's coming over straight from work tomorrow (he's on a 6-2 shift), so I decided I'd best cook something for tea. Going to make chille, so picked up the mince and a tin of kidney beans (really must replenish my stock of these next month) so I can get it pre-made tonight 'cos I'm at the gym for my weekly Personal Trainer session in the morning - already have onion, tinned tomatoes and spices in. Also picked up some garlic bread to go with it (have a huuuuge bag of rice on my kitchen side, so didn't need that), some double cream (use it in coffee as well as on my mince pies) and a Whoopsied white chocolate bombe (at £1.99 not really as cheap as I'd have liked, but I adore them and didn't fancy wandering back in another 60-90 minutes in the vague hope there was still one left for me at a lower price - so that's an early Christmas treat from me to myself).

Genius IF! Your choices are inspired and very apt - I lost 1.5lbs today taking my weight loss up to a nice round 30lb just in time for Christmas! 4lb to go to goal!
Our WW party was great fun - a lovely buffet ( mostly low fat too!)
Oh, and Beanie, one of our members works in Mr Lucas and brought frozen berry yogurt - to die for! Highly recommended, in fact I'm going to get some for the freezer.

As predicted, not a NSD, but I got all my bits and bobs for OH today, plus I treated myself to cleanser and moisturiser. The shops were a bit mad but ok.

Got my wrapping finished so I am feeling more relaxed now! Just have to pick up the desserts for Christmas day, tomorrows job, and then I'm done!
The best news is that my sister got the all-clear on a biopsy she had done for some "lady" problems, so that's a huge relief all round.:)

Thanks for all the hugs IF, RISING and SPOON - you all are a Godsend in times of stress!

Another spendy day for me today, but hopefully I won't need to go back to a supermarket until after Christmas :D

Tomorrow won't be a NSD either as I'm meeting a friend to drink some pink drinks ;)
